Jose’s life was tragically cut short on the night of Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at just 38 years old, leaving an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
At approximately 9:51 p.m., Mesquite police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 300 block of Rodeo Center Boulevard, where callers reported a man lying in a business parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers arrived swiftly and rendered aid, doing everything possible to save his life. Jose was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. While the investigation into this heartbreaking incident remains ongoing, the grief surrounding his loss is already deeply felt by his family, friends, and the broader community.
Jose Rodriguez Jaquez was far more than a name in a police report—he was a man defined by kindness, resilience, and a generous heart.
